Job description

Background and context 

Tiko (previously known as Triggerise) believes in a world where all youth have the power to choose where, when, and how they meet their sexual reproductive health needs. Our digital platform delivers scalable and verifiable sexual reproductive health services for young people in 6 main markets in Sub-Saharan Africa - Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, South Africa, Zambia and Burkina Faso. We work together with local communities and use nudges like reminders, discounts, and reward points to encourage our users to access and use sexual and reproductive health services. We also support our users in becoming micro-entrepreneurs and adding value to their economies.

Tiko is looking for an individual consultant to support the Product team during our Product Director's maternity leave. This role requires a commitment of 5 working days per week over a ten or eleven month period. The consultant will be responsible for completing the following tasks:


Scope of Work 

Summary: Collaborate with product managers operating across a number of related platform products to ensure alignment and execution against a cohesive product strategy.  Communicate with and influence stakeholders across the organisation to manage and exceed expectations.  Improve the maturity of the product management practice through implementation of processes and standards. You will also take on coordinating management tasks for the Product team conducting the following;

 

  1. Develop and execute a strategic vision for platform products, ensuring alignment with business goals and broader organizational planning.
  2. Lead collaboration with product managers, drive innovation through emerging technologies, and stay informed about industry trends to enhance product development.
  3. Maintain and align the platform product roadmap with business priorities, ensuring interdependencies are managed effectively.
  4. Collaborate with product managers to translate the roadmap into delivery plans while responding proactively to unscheduled changes.
  5. Engage with key stakeholders to align product development with business objectives and organizational needs.
  6. Lead and collaborate with distributed teams while effectively communicating product concepts, progress, and insights across the organization.
  7. Establish and maintain processes that ensure professionalism, customer-centricity, value orientation, and privacy by design within the product function.
  8. Define and monitor key performance indicators, implement measurement systems, and drive value-based prioritization to assess product success and business impact.
  9. Identify and mitigate risks related to platform product development, market changes, and other factors.


Consultant Qualifications:

    The individual must ideally meet the criteria below.

    • 5+ years in Product Management at a Senior/Lead level
    • Experience in product strategy, ideation, discovery and prioritisation for a product/set of products
    • Strong process engineering and process flow design w/ documentation, data structure/architecture, UX/UI (User Experience/User Interface), and design best practices.
    • Exposure in developing CRM applications, including setting up governance, best practices, standards, and change management processes.
    • Experience with Agile Software delivery processes
    • You are currently based in Portugal, South Africa or Kenya (Mandatory).
