Overview:

Summary: 

The Technology Sales Internship will provide an invaluable 10-week overview of the roles and responsibilities of an executive level technology salesperson at a top Value-Added Reseller (VAR)Interns will learn how to effectively find business opportunities with new logo and existing accounts through marketing, events, partner alignment, prospect identification and e-mail/cold calling campaignsOther aspects of the sales process including working with an internal technical team to build solutions, creation of client presentations and how to move an opportunity through all stages of the sales process (first call to close) will be explored.   

 

At the completion of the 10 weeks the Technology Sales Intern will be able to position ConvergeOne to prospects and customers through a strategic, solution-based selling approach, offering our entire portfolio across many business verticalsThe ideal candidate should be a creative, high energy and driven individual with knowledge of technology and a desire to pursue a sales careerOur objective is to work with a sharp, determined individual who has a focus on winning, with a commitment to integrity and keeping the client’s needs and business goals first and foremost.

Responsibilities:

Interns should anticipate the following activities during the summer; 

 

  • Training on the full portfolio of ConvergeOne’s products and service offerings 
  • Training on ConvergeOne’s solution selling sales method (MEDPICC) 
  • Working with the Florida/Georgia sales director to develop, promote and execute events (webinars and in person) 
  • Assistance with partner outreach and appointment setting 
  • Development of a case study presentation to analyze a customer’s business issues & interests and the technology strategy that was developed to achieve their business objectives 
  • Working with the Sales Director to develop of a Business Plan for Florida/Georgia that is consistent with short-range and long-range company objectives 
  • Weekly reporting on industry changes using local publications and news feeds to monitor the business climate locally and nationally 
  • Shadowing a team that includes sales, Internal Sales Reps, marketing, services, engineers and purchasing/inventory to learn how to sell in a team environment 
  • Learning the expectations of working in a professional environment and keeping advised on company policies, procedures, and objectives, clarifying them with Supervisor when and if questions arise 
  • Learning the importance of accurate sales forecasting and how it impacts the rest of the organizationAlso learns about other reporting mechanisms and how it allows the company to make decisions such as hiring, acquiring companies, etc.  
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications 

  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and engage dynamically with customers 
  • Persuasive interpersonal sales skills with positive outlook 
  • Self-motivated and competitive; driven to reach and exceed individual and team goals 
  • Exceptional written communication and grammar 
  • Strong computer skills in using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 
  • Must have junior or senior status in a degree program at a 4-year accredited college/university 
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, or related field of study at an accredited college/university 
  • Must have a minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA
