Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our global entities, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards. This role involves managing the consolidation of financial statements, performing detailed financial analysis, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Accounting Manager will also coordinate month-end and year-end close processes, oversee reconciliations, and ensure timely financial reporting. Collaborating with accounting teams across multiple countries, they will provide guidance on financial policies, identify areas for process improvements, and support strategic financial planning. Additionally, they will work closely with senior leadership to provide key financial insights that drive decision-making and enhance operational efficiency. This position requires strong analytical skills, expertise in international finance, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced International Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing financial statements from our international entities, analyzing complex financial data, and preparing statistical reports. This role requires close collaboration with accounting personnel across various countries and ongoing communication with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team and the VP of Accounting. The International Accounting Manager will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy and compliance across our global operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze financial statements from international entities to ensure accuracy and compliance with local and international accounting standards.
  • Identify discrepancies and work with local accounting personnel to resolve any issues.
  • Coordinate the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and financial reporting is accurate.
  • Review monthly roll forwards and reconciliations.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and dashboards to communicate financial performance to management.
  • Liaise with local accounting teams to provide guidance and support on financial reporting and compliance matters.
  • Collaborate closely with the FP&A team to align financial forecasts with actual performance and assist in budgeting processes.
  • Regularly communicate with the Senior Accounting Manager and Director of Accounting to provide updates on international financial performance and key issues.
  • Assist in preparing presentations for senior management, highlighting financial insights and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency across international operations.
  • Implement best practices in financial reporting and analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on international finance and consolidation.
  • Strong understanding of international accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP) and local regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems such as Great Plains is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and time zones.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
