PROJECT MANAGER


Department: Engineering

Reports To: Vice President of Project Execution

FLSA Status: Exempt

Description:

The Project Manager will organize, manage, plan, and execute complex projects for the organization, including research, development, contract execution, and engineering implementation efforts.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


· Leads an interdepartmental team to deliver an assigned project on time, within budget, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.

· Outlines the tasks involved in the project and completes or delegates accordingly.

· Conducts cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.

· Implements a budget based on project cost estimates.

· Conducts risk assessments; reports identified risks to management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk.

· Addresses questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.

· Acts as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors.

· Communicates and collaborates with sales and marketing teams to provide training and information required to promote and sell new projects, programs, and systems.

· Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.





Required Skills/Abilities:


· Experience in municipal and public bid submittal and engineering processes.

· Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn pressure vessels, fluid handling systems, meters, valves, and other instrumentation required for municipal water systems.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

· Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

· Comfortable with Microsoft Teams, email, phone calls and texts as primary communication tools.

· Proficient with PM software and operating principles. Experience with Zoho Projects and Business Central/Microsoft Dynamics is highly desirable.


Qualifications:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be professional, proactive, and positive. Having a passion for exceptional customer service and support is a must. Being sensitive to the unpredictable demands and uncertainties associated with municipal project delivery and customer service is a requisite to delivering superior results and exceeding the expectations of our customers.

Education and Experience:


· Bachelor’s degree in related field, which may include Computer Science, Business, or Engineering, required.

· At least five years of related project management experience required.

· PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications are highly desirable.



Physical Requirements:


· Remote location expected. Location in the eastern time zone preferred but not required.

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

· Will be asked to travel to visit customers, vendors, or different company locations as needed.
