Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (PST)

About the Company

Sagan represents a growing financial operations team seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to support their accounting functions. This role is ideal for professionals with strong organizational skills and a background in QuickBooks and financial reporting.

Position Overview:

As a remote Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing accounts payable, invoicing, bank reconciliation, and collections. You'll also handle vendor coordination, reporting, and assist with general accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable: Process weekly invoices, verify accuracy with POs, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Credit Card Transactions: Post employee credit card receipts to appropriate accounts.
  • Vendor Coordination: Maintain updated COI logs and follow up on expired COIs.
  • Invoicing: Generate and send invoices for approved projects, ensuring accurate final invoicing.
  • Collections: Follow up on overdue accounts receivable and maintain the AR tracking sheet.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations for bank and credit card accounts.
  • Reporting: Create standard and customized financial reports in QuickBooks.
  • Phone Support: Handle 5-10 accounting-related calls per month for payment collection inquiries.


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (critical requirement).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Fluent to native-level English proficiency (advanced level required).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills.
  • Must provide own computer, cell phone, and other necessary equipment.
  • Must reside in South America.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • (Preferred Experience) Payroll Support: assist with payroll processing, including time cards and E-Verify for new hires.
  • Experience with international accounting or remote finance teams.
  • Prior experience in US-based financial operations.
