Overview

 

Payscale is looking for a QA Engineer who is motivated, energetic, and detail oriented. If you thrive by working in a fast-paced environment utilizing the latest internet technologies, consider this opportunity as the next level in your professional development. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Create and execute functional test plans and test cases 
  • Assist with root cause analysis for defects and performance issues 
  • Perform project and defect tracking for assigned areas 
  • Work constructively with the Payscale development team to solve tough challenges efficiently in an always changing environment. 
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement within the QA team 

 

Qualifications  Required  

  • 3+ years in a software Quality Assurance role 
  • Experience devising test strategies, creating test plans and test cases 
  • Hands-on experience testing web/SaaS applications 
  • Have worked with SQL and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, MSSQL, etc.) including creating and executing queries 
  • API testing using postman or similar tools 
  • Agile/SCRUM experience 
  • Issue/Project Tracking tools (such as JIRA) 
  • Application Performance Monitoring tools (such as New Relic, Sentry) 
  • Great verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment 
  • Ability to prioritize and address multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience 

 

Experience and knowledge desirable: 

  • Experience with TestRail or similar testing tool 
  • Automation testing experience 
  • Experience working with Selenium 
  • Performance/load testing 
  • Understand public cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS) 

 

 

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $82,000 - $123,100, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible for an annual corporate bonus of 8%. If you are hired at Payscale, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider any internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
