Job Description:
About the Position
- The role is accountable for driving and taking ownership of the APAC Talent Development (TD) objectives setting, defining, aligning and executing a robust & strategic TD plan to support the key business priorities and growth of the APAC region; ensuring the region’s talent development requirements are met whilst maximizing the TD effectiveness and investment in return.
Main Responsibilities
- As the APAC regional representative of the Global TD team, build trusting relationships with all stakeholders including the APAC Leadership Team.
- Play a proactive role to understand key stakeholders’ perspectives and design, develop, and deliver a wide range of developmental and learning initiatives to suit the local/country needs.
- Partner with HRBPs and people managers to systematically assess the APAC team’s competency levels and development priorities, maximize the usage of Global TD resources and shape APAC TD strategy in line with regional and country people and business goals and industry best practice.
- Build and implement learning journeys beyond one-off programs, to enable learning transfer and help talents to achieve mindset shifts to optimize performance and develop competencies in the most effective and efficient ways.
- Expand and enrich the 70 and 20 components of the current BeiGene program contents, capitalize and build more experience-based and exposure-based opportunities and initiatives.
- Identify strategic and outcome-oriented measurements to monitor the execution and impacts of the TD strategy with focus on participants’ behavioural change and deliver sustainable improvements of team effectiveness and business results.
- Shape the life-long learning culture, engage business leaders to share the ownership of talent development, and enable their deeper involvement in the designing and delivery of TD initiatives and programs.
- Collaborate with HRBP and other HR Centre of Excellence functions to support the implementation of critical HR initiatives and processes via purposefully planned TD intervention.
- Promote ownership of self-development, and leverage technology strategically when appropriate.
Qualification Required:
- 10+ year experiences as a TD practitioner in an in-house role and experience in leadership capacity.
- Bachelor and/or above degree in HR related or business administration. Certifications in learning and development or related fields will be highly regarded.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing TD strategies and programs in a matrix organization. Experience gained from pharma / life science industry is an advantage.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Additional language skills (Japanese, Korean, etc.) and cross-cultural understanding would be beneficial
- Strategic thinking capability, strong analytical ability, sound judgement and effective decision- making.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to simultaneously manage competing priorities.
- Proven ability to design and deliver general professional skills and leadership programs, solid training facilitation skills.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent end-to-end planning execution and administration skills.
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, collaboration tools e.g. MS Team and Zoom, and Copilot.
- Good understanding of learning management systems (LMS) and is technology savvy.
- Demonstrated maturity, professionalism, teamwork, resilience, and adaptability required for a fast- paced and high growth environment.
Education Required:
- Bachelor and/or above degree in HR related or business administration.
