We’re seeking a Technical Product Manager to join our team and drive the development of solutions leveraging AI that support our customers in managing their robotic fleets. We believe AI is blurring the traditional division between Product Manager, Designer, and Engineer, and requires generalists who can be more self-sufficient by building prototypes and work across these disciplines and reducing or eliminating handoffs between teams.
Key Responsibilities
Define and prioritize the roadmap for remotely deploying and managing heterogeneous robotic fleets, focusing on minimal downtime and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, customer success, and sales) to ensure the product aligns with customer needs and business goals.
Develop prototypes rapidly using AI tools, get feedback and iterate with customers, work with Engineering to productize the solution, Marketing on the product launch, and Customer Success on driving and measuring adoption.
Lead Initiatives For
Initial platform integration, setup, and testing.
Installing agents on devices and cloud to cloud integrations with an OEM’s platform ensuring real-time integration of data in Formant.
Configuring devices to ingest all relevant data for operations.
Allocating users and device access across the platform.
Remedying issues in the field remotely.
Setting up real-time control dashboards.
Configuring devices for commands, schedules, and buffers.
Enabling orchestration for multi-robot control and mission planning.
Serve as the voice of the user personas, including Robotics Engineers, Field Engineers, Operators, and Technicians.
Conduct regular interviews, surveys, and data analysis to gather insights and improve user satisfaction.
Oversee the development and enhancement of key products, including Agent, Teleop, Access Control, Commands/Schedules, Interventions, Incident Management, Mission Management, Ingestion, and Operational/Control layers of Scene Modules.
Ensure products meet the highest quality standards and deliver exceptional value to users.
Ensure robust testing and validation processes for platform integrations and configurations.
Must Have Skills
3+ years of experience in technical product management, preferably in Robotics, IoT, or data & analytics platforms.
Thrive in a fast paced environment.
Proven track record of managing technical products from concept to launch.
Strong understanding of robotics systems, IoT devices, or fleet management solutions.
Familiarity with APIs, microservices, data ingestion pipelines, remote device management, and cloud-based architectures.
Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to analyze complex systems and propose practical solutions.
Experience working with telemetry, data visualization, and real-time monitoring tools.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
Ability to read and potentially write code (not required to be an expert but enough to communicate with developers).
Experience with tools like Jira, Trello, Asana, Notion, or similar productivity and collaboration tools.
Experience with tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, Pendo, Looker, Sigma, Segment or similar data and analytics tools.
Nice To Have Skills
Familiarity with Formant’s platform or similar tools like ROS, Mission Planning software, or fleet orchestration systems.
Hands-on experience working with robotics systems in the field.
Experience working with multi-robot orchestration and control systems.
Background in machine learning or AI for robotics.
Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, TypeScript, or similar.
Experience with incident management and operational workflows in high uptime environments.
Familiarity with tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD for wireframes and design mockups.
Familiarity with AI tools like v0, Bolt, Cursor, or Replit for generating UI’s and code for rapid prototyping.
