Build A Rocket Boy is an independent game developer, headquartered in Edinburgh Scotland, with operations in Budapest Hungary, the Netherlands, France, and California USA. Led by game developer Leslie Benzies, Build A Rocket Boy’s team includes hundreds of the industry’s brightest development talents with the shared vision to create new and innovative entertainment experiences. Build A Rocket Boy’s first project is EVERYWHERE – a new multi-world game experience that blurs the line between reality and the digital world.
As a Senior Technical Artist, you will be working alongside a talented Art team driving forwards cutting-edge visuals, investigating and fixing various issues, providing technical guidance, and defining art workflow and pipelines.
Working closely with Technical Art Direction and the Production team, you will ensure that your work is delivered on time and to the standards required, helping to increase the quality of the games.

Work closely with the Art Director, Technical Director and Art teams to define and maintain art workflows.
Clearly communicate and document art production pipelines.
Shader research and development.
Provide guidance to artists encouraging best working practices and strong asset organisation.
Proactively provide suggestions on how to utilise new technologies and tools and implement them into our workflow.
Work with engineers to troubleshoot issues and find solutions to help further enhance our art pipeline.
Provide clear guidance on technical performance constraints and help define asset budgets.
Requirements
Requirements
Expert knowledge of game engines and the technical constraints and challenges of game development.
Significant experience with 3D modelling tools such as 3ds Max, Maya, or ZBrush, in a video game environment.
Excellent technical understanding of art pipelines, memory and rendering budgets.
Excellent communication skills, and comfortable working across multiple teams.
Knowledge of at least one programming language (such as Python, C++).
Understanding of modern procedural asset creation techniques (Scanning, Marvellous).
Strong interest in the latest advancements in video game graphics and visual trends.
4 years minimum experience as Technical Artist in the games industry.
