About Pipe17

At Pipe17, we’re on a mission to simplify commerce operations. Our platform seamlessly connects ecommerce businesses to the apps and services they need, eliminating complexity and helping merchants scale effortlessly. As we grow, clear and effective documentation is critical to ensuring our customers, partners, and developers can easily adopt and maximize the power of Pipe17.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Technical Writer to create and maintain high-quality documentation that enhances the user experience for our customers and developer community. You’ll work closely with product, engineering, and support teams to develop clear, concise, and accurate content that helps users configure, operate, and integrate with Pipe17.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and maintain documentation for three core user journeys:
    • Day 0: Configuration & setup (for technical but non-developer users)
    • Day 1: Operational oversight (debugging, use cases, exception handling for non-technical users)
    • Developers: API documentation, SDK guidance, and building new integrations
  • Externalize our SDK framework to make it accessible for outside developers.
  • Establish a prescriptive, structured approach to cataloging and prioritizing fragmented knowledge.
  • Ensure documentation is user-friendly, actionable, and regularly updated based on product changes and feedback.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and support teams to gather technical details and translate them into clear, accessible content.
  • Work with design tools like Figma, Markdown, and HTML as needed to enhance documentation clarity and accessibility.
  • Research and analyze industry trends, competitor documentation, and customer feedback to continuously improve content.
Who You Are
  • 2-3+ years of experience in technical writing (Semi-Senior/Senior).
  • E-commerce knowledge (desirable): Understanding of order flows, integrations, and platforms like NetSuite, Shopify, 3PLs, etc.
  • Content Structuring & Organization: Ability to categorize, index, and maintain documentation efficiently.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Engages with engineering, product, success, and sales teams to gather accurate information.
  • Clear & Concise Writing: Ability to make complex technical concepts accessible.
  • Ecommerce background is a strong plus—familiarity with logistics, integrations, and commerce operations.
  • Ability to work resourcefully, without defaulting to buying tools as the first solution.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and a results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable content.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering, product, and support teams to create user-focused documentation.
Target Background

We’re particularly interested in candidates from companies known for strong documentation practices or those operating in ecommerce and SaaS, such as:

  • Ecommerce Platforms: Shopify, BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, VTEX, Fabric
  • Order & Inventory Management Systems: Linnworks, Cin7, Skubana
  • Selling & Listing Tools: Channel Advisor, Seller Active, Feedonomics, Channel Engine, ProductsUp
  • ERPs & WMSs: NetSuite, Acumatica, Extensiv, Logiwa, ShipStation, Shippo
Why Pipe17?
  • Fast-growing, dynamic startup solving real ecommerce challenges.
  • High-impact role where your work will directly shape the customer experience.
  • Collaborative, remote-friendly team that values transparency and efficiency.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and opportunities for growth.
