Instructional Aid Coordinator to join the School of Earth Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences. Duties include assisting in group management of up to 14 students, maintaining a safe, focused, positive atmosphere. The Instructional Aid Coordinator will be responsible for technical equipment and supplies to include: (1) preparing all supplies and materials needed for daily field camp exercises; (2) cleaning and storing of equipment and supplies before, during, and after daily field exercises; and (3) sort and organize equipment and supplies on campus before the trip.
The Instructional Aid Coordinator will also conduct all the planning, shopping, and preparation of meals for all field camp participants during camping trips. The Instructional Aid Coordinator is responsible for daily ordering and/or pick-up of catered meals for all field camp participants during the 6-week course.
The Instructional Aid Coordinator will be responsible for all transportation-related needs. This includes: (1) driving students, equipment and supplies, and all personal items in 12-passenger vans from Columbus to Utah and back; (2) driving students each field day from our field station in Ephraim to multiple field areas in/around central Utah; (3) driving and providing supervision of students in school sanctioned activities and excursions on the ‘off’ days; (4) thoroughly inspecting vehicles prior to initial use, and regularly thereafter, for unsafe conditions or damage; (5) responsible for the regular maintenance and cleaning of OSU and rental vehicles.
The Instructional Aid Coordinator will support faculty in the field with added supervision of students. This includes assisting with any required logistics during student "off hours" before and after the entire course, in between each project, and before and after each day in the field. Additionally, the Instructional Aid Coordinator will provide safety assistance, including (1) monitoring student groups in the field, (2) knowing all safety-related rules & regulations, and (3) embodying safe field camp practices.
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED including 1 year of relevant experience required. Must have Driver’s Licenses.
Desired Qualifications: 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred. Certification or vocational training may be preferred.
The pay range for this job profile is $15.70-$20.67. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
