In your role as Construction Project Manager, you play a key and fundamental role for Zelestra in Germany. You are the responsible owner of our EPC projects from NTP to PAC and function as the EPC Contractor’s representative during the project’s execution of our Solar, Wind and Bess projects in Germany. You will work within a small team of dedicated colleagues and set the steps for scale up of business.
Responsibilities
Taking full ownership of our EPC projects from NTP to PAC. Be the EPC Contractor’s representative and take responsibility for costs, quality, time and HSE compliance during the project’s execution.
Oversee one or more large-scale EPC projects leading project initiation, preparation, execution, including continuous monitoring and controlling up to its completion & handover.
Single point of contact for the project and its construction activities. Coordinate an interdisciplinary project team with internal & external stakeholders.
Manage the EPC project schedule, EPC cost budget and the project contracts starting in the design phase through to O&M and Asset Management.
Project preparation including technical due diligence, site visits, feasibility assessment, management of documentation, coordination, and communication with internal & external stakeholders.
Project execution including managing the on-site construction team, coordination of acceptance procedures, and handover procedures.
Support in the qualification, creation of the BOM, tendering, contract drafting/negotiation and selection of the subcontractor for the construction works.
Managing of the subcontractors, including contract-, variation- & claim-management. Ensuring compliance under the EPC contract and back-to-back principle (as required) with the subcontractors and suppliers.
Coordinate logistics with Zelestra’s central logistics team, manage material acceptance and material handover to the subcontractors in coordination with suppliers, etc.
Responsible for on-site HSE compliance. Regular Site visits and inspections related to the construction works.
Addressing technical site issues in coordination with the Engineering team. Ensure achievement of project milestones, smooth commissioning of the plant and handover to O&M and Asset Management.
Risk management, troubleshooting and problem solving. Take decisions of project level and solve problems while involving all relevant stakeholders and understanding / managing of the related risks.
Report project progress and key information. Capture lessons-learned and enable continuous improvement within Zelestra’s EPC team.
Job Requirements
Academic degree in engineering, renewable energies or similar with a focus on energy technology or infrastructure.
Project Management experience in renewable energies in Germany.
Competent use of MS Office applications, including MS Project.
Ability to handle complex problems with multiple international stakeholders, to work independently and under one’s own responsibility, capacity to quickly adapt and relate to new tasks.
Positive “can-do” attitude and enthusiasm to learn.
Willingness to travel (up to 50%).
Business fluent in German and English.
Strong negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
Strong communication, persuasive and assertive skills.
Strong willingness to teamwork and collaborate.
