Alphanumeric is hiring a Data Analyst - Scientific Knowledge Engineer (Level 2) to work remotely with our long-term client, a global leader in medical and pharmaceutical advancements. This role is a critical part of the Onyx Research Data Platform, an initiative designed to revolutionize data utilization for scientific research and drug discovery.

Key Responsibilities
๐น Ontology & Data Modeling
Design and manage schemas and data models for scientific datasets to enable data-driven research.
Ensure high-quality control and validation of mapping specifications for seamless integration.
Work with Product Managers & Engineers to translate business needs into structured data models for large-scale biology data.
๐น Standardization & Compliance
Collaborate with external organizations to align data standards with industry and academic ontologies.
Ensure scientific data meets engineering standards and metadata requirements for efficient indexing, structuring, and standardization.
Define data ingestion requirements and support automation at scale for R&D data integration.
๐น Technical Expertise & Consultation
Provide subject matter expertise to translate deep scientific knowledge into actionable data insights.
Offer data profiling and advisory services to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and usability of research datasets.
Work cross-functionally with engineering, research, and data science teams to optimize data architecture and workflow efficiency.

โ Data modeling, schema design, and controlled vocabularies

Education & Experience
๐ Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In
Bioinformatics, Biomedical Science, Biomedical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or Computer Science (with a life sciences focus).
๐ 4-6 years of experience in scientific data management, bioinformatics, or a related field.
