The Director, Asia Commercial Strategy, provides expert oversight and management of significant commercial items, including major contract development, negotiation, and execution- especially in complex, high-stakes environments. The role involves offering expert commercial guidance and insights to country teams to support their business development efforts. This position represents commercial matters for the Asia team in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. We are open to US remote candidates with a preference for candidates local to our HQ location in Cranberry Township, PA. Some travel is expected to Asia and HQ location yearly.
Your Day To Day
Offer Strategy Development
Develop comprehensive strategies for complex business opportunities by incorporating customer requirements as outlined in RFPs (Requests for Proposal) and aligning them with Westinghouse’s offer strategies.
Act as a consultative partner to Account Teams in capturing and planning strategies.
Engage with various Business Units (BUs), as well as legal and financial leaders, to provide executive management with concise, impactful summaries and materials, including Limit of Authority (LOA) proposals.
Contract Development
Collaborate with Legal, Contracts, Account Teams, BUs, GOS, and Contracts teams to create business models and contract structures for unique, non-traditional projects.
Assess revenue streams, financing mechanisms, cost structures, and risks, ensuring they align with Westinghouse’s strategic goals.
Contract Negotiations
Lead or support the negotiation of complex contracts within the Asia business, focusing on contract scope, terms, and conditions.
Develop negotiation frameworks and strategies to ensure favorable outcomes for key projects.
Strategic Initiatives Management
Drive strategic initiatives to secure growth and maximize business opportunities.
Lead Asia Markets’ WEROCK program.
Growth Strategy Development
Engage with internal stakeholders to develop country and segment-specific strategies that support the broader growth agenda.
Commercial Leadership for China I&C Projects
Act as the primary Commercial Director for Instrumentation & Control (I&C) projects in China, ensuring alignment with Westinghouse’s strategic and commercial objectives.
Internal Company Interaction
Work closely with Global Markets, BUs, Treasury, Legal and Compliance, Government Affairs, GOS, and other relevant departments.
Guide internal stakeholders in formulating and executing capture and negotiation strategies.
External Company Interaction
Build relationships with customers, partners, and occasionally government officials to strengthen Westinghouse’s market position.
Vendor/Supplier/Regulatory Interaction
Engage with vendors and suppliers as necessary to influence pricing and understand cost structures, supporting strategic decision-making.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or related field. Master of Business Administration is preferred.
10+ years of related experience in financial management, business development, marketing, or engineering
Flexibility to work within different global timezones
