Senior Java & Cloud Data Engineer (Full - Time Remote)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Whether you're in any European country, you'll join forces with dedicated professionals in the Marketing sector, working on exciting projects.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Enhance the performance of data-intensive applications, implement resilient Java services, and maintain Java-based SDKs and libraries.
• Troubleshoot and optimize distributed applications running on AWS EKS, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and cost efficiency.
• Utilize tools like Datadog, CloudWatch, and Grafana to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance, implementing auto-scaling solutions as needed.
• Develop automated provisioning systems for Java-based services, implement GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Jenkins), and build self-service tooling for Kafka and data infrastructure.
• Analyze and enhance cloud infrastructure (Terraform IaC) with a focus on Java-based Kafka applications and event-driven architectures.

WHAT WE EXPECT:

• 10+ years of experience in engineering roles, with expertise in Java development and JVM optimization.
• Strong experience with AWS, especially EKS, and distributed systems. Familiarity with GitOps (ArgoCD), event-driven architectures, and monitoring tools like Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Proficiency in Java, build tools (Maven/Gradle), unit testing frameworks, and Apache Kafka. Experience in monitoring and optimizing Java application performance.
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash), DevOps practices, and automation principles
• Experience with data mesh architectures, relevant cloud certifications, and a background in DataOps practices.
• Flexibility to work in UK hours.
