We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to oversee and manage our organization’s daily operations of the accounting department, overseeing bookkeeping, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate must be a self-motivator with a strong attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting principles to support the company’s financial health and strategic goals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Accounting Operations:
- Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, strategic account billing and commission tracking.
- Assist the Controller with timely and accurate posting of all monthly, quarterly and annual accounting entries.
- Occasional on-site presence required to ensure seamless payment processing.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close process
- Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Monitor and enforce internal controls, ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Identify areas for process improvement within the accounting department to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and manage the accounting team, providing mentorship and training as needed.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team members meet deadlines and achieve performance objectives.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in foreign currency is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Unit 4 accounting software a plus but not mandatory and advanced MS Excel skills.
