Job description

The Staff Accountant, Property Accounting is a key member of the accounting department. This position will be working under the supervision of the Regional Controller or Senior Director. Staff Accountants maintain and execute a variety of accounting procedures for 70+ properties.

Essential Duties

Assist in the preparing and posting of journal entries for month-end and year-end closing.
Reconcile key accounts such as cash, prepaids, payroll liabilities, and other various assets and liability accounts.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations
Provide supporting documentation for external audits
Provide support to Regional Controllers
Ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university with an emphasis in accounting
Familiarity with US GAAP and internal controls
Self-starter, high-energy, eager to learn and grow
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
Strong attention to detail
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
Must possess excellent organizational skills
Willing to work additional hours when necessary
Familiarity with NetSuite is a plus
