What’s the role?
As a Senior Account Manager, National Retail, you get to work with an astonishing team that plays a vital role at Carl Zeiss Consumer Optics Products. Show case your skills and experience with process enhancement by strengthening our Team as a Senior Account Manager, National Retail within Sports Optics. In this role you would be responsible to manage the ZEISS Sports Optics sales and retail distribution efforts associated with an assigned account listing, to include National Retailers Bass Pro Shops / Cabela’s, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Scheels, Fleet Farm, Academy, Costco, and others.

Here’s what you’ll do:
- Developing the Sales Relationship with the assigned accounts and strategically executing the Sales and Service Cycle accordingly.
- Planning and recommendations for product assortment.
- Plan-o-gram or POS placement and physical and digital asset delivery and implementation for merchandising.
- Pre-planning and customer specific promotional and event planning.
- Retail store training plan and execution, integration of digital training platforms like Expert Voice, and spiff and loyalty program execution for training.
- Teams, phone, e-mail, and in-person visitation frequency for scheduled service calls.
- POS reporting, supply-chain management, and achieving Vendor Managed Inventory responsibility for inventory management.
- Anticipating portfolio changes and planning accordingly for seasonal transition management.
- Primary Responsibilities toward internal ZEISS stakeholders include:
- Building, maintaining, and executing a comprehensive by-account sales plan, setting clear and measurable business goals for each account, developing actionable initiatives designed to accomplish these specific goals, and communicating the required resources (tools, people, budget) required to drive success.
- Managing the accountability thereof within a defined calendar, identifying account challenges and proposing relevant solutions to overcome challenges, managing sales programs, and assisting internal AR to ensure timely payment for your accounts for account planning.
- Top line, by Acct and by SKU forecasting/demand planning, quickly identifying issues that lead to assortment retractions as well as additions, ability to coach and challenge an account for growth, and identifying which products aren’t going to perform well for the company and explaining why for forecasting/demand planning.
- Securing POS data, compiling POS, and presenting findings and recommendations to upper management for POS reporting.
- Gathering and communicating store visit reports, retail landscape, trends, competitive intel, market opportunities, and competition assessments re: “like” products doing well with accounts – and why for field pulse reporting.
- Event Participation expectations:
- Shooting Sport Trade Shows: SHOT, etc.
- Shooting Sport Consumer Events: Western Hunt, Sheep Show, etc.
- Regional Shooting Events: Provide estimated costing and product support.
Do you qualify?
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing national accounts, preferably with experience managing Bass Pro, Cabela's, Sportsman's Warehouse, and Scheels.
- Vast industry experience, deep level o knowledge of the hunting and shooting markets.
- Key account planning and detailed forecasting experience.
- Experience with detailed budgeting, analysis, and presentation to major accounts.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Independent thinker and operator, as the position will be remote.
- Self-starter is a must.

Minnesota- The annual salary range for this position is $87,000 - $109,000.
The salary offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent
