Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Dive deep into project drawings to conduct comprehensive material takeoffs, showcasing your analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Craft precise cost estimates using Excel, translating complex technical information into clear, actionable financial data
  • Demonstrate your expertise by identifying and categorizing various systems including water services, drainage, ventilation, and air conditioning in diverse project plans
  • Contribute to business growth by assisting with subcontractor inquiries and response management, expanding your industry network (future task)
  • Enhance client relationships by managing email communications, adhering to UK business hours and maintaining a professional online presence (future task)
  • Collaborate closely with the business owner to refine estimating processes, driving efficiency and innovation in our workflow

Requirements
  • Proven experience in mechanical estimating, with a particular flair for detailed material takeoffs
  • Excel wizardry: ability to create, manage, and optimize cost estimates using advanced spreadsheet techniques
  • Sharp eye for interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings, with the ability to visualize complex systems from 2D plans
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a passion for numerical accuracy
  • Exceptional time management skills with a track record of meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, capable of clear and concise technical writing
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting
