The Opportunity

This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in the Nutrition Division.

As a part of the Global Supply Chain Finance organization, this role provides global market analysis and negotiation support to Abbott Agriculture and Nutrition Purchasing Category spend. This position must stay well-versed on macro + micro economic trends and their impact on material costs.  The position will have the authority to update systems, assemble detailed spend analyses from various global locations, update Sr. level financial personnel, issue reports (up to CFO), and modify long range project plans based on various analyses and research.

Accountability and Scope

  • This position is an individual contributor reporting to the Sr. Finance Manager, AN Supply Chain FP&A.
  • Position participates / presents market positions and/or price models, in key supplier negotiations.  The position will routinely work with divisional finance (up to and including division controllers) as well as interact with Director levels on a routine basis.
  • Communications and reports will be intended for Sr. Level Management including DVPs, and CFO.
  • Externally, the position will interface with various sources for market data, benchmarking, and validation.

What You’ll Work On

  • Conduct detailed spend analysis on key categories of spend regionally.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research on specific commodity markets to forecast impacts to AN direct material spend.
  • Establishing critical financial targets for commodity pricing + Purchase Price Variance (PPV) performance
  • Update Abbott systems to reflect appropriate variables for financial cycles.
  • Be the resident expert on all electronic system applications such as Essbase and PowerBI.

Required Qualifications

  • BA / BS required in economics, finance, mathematics, or business. This position should have a minimum of 2 years in Finance or Purchasing / Sourcing related experience.

The base pay for this position is

$75,300.00 – $150,700.00
