Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 per year. You are eligible to a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 7.5% of your annual earnings, terms and conditions apply.
Associate Marketing Events Manager (REMOTE, USA)
What You’ll Be Doing
As the Associate Marketing Events Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the planning of several conferences and meetings for Ambry Genetics, reporting to the Marketing Manager, Trade Shows and Events. You will work with Marketing to define the strategy and tactics to achieve event objectives. You will research event venues, work with a vendor network and negotiate contracts for catering, AV and other event support services. Additionally, you will manage pre-event activities, communications and post-event evaluations. In this role, you will monitor event budgets and prepare periodic management reports, including event ROI. You will help to ensure that projects/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
Although you will not have direct reports you will also be expected to influence others around you and help instill best practices into all areas of event planning and execution. This role will interface with numerous functional areas including Sales, Commercial Learning & Development, Design Team, Web Team, Genetic Specialists, R&D, Medical Affairs, Legal and Compliance.
Responsibilities
- In collaboration with key stakeholders, plan and execute tradeshow participation, sponsorships and customer events at national conferences. Build on Ambry’s vision and message to create an engaging, memorable and impactful presence at all Ambry events.
- Develop and drive event-based marketing initiatives to generate sales leads for sales representative follow-up; Track and report event ROI based on key objectives and metrics.
- Maintain events information on Ambry website.
- Work with sales and marketing teams to execute event strategy and objectives that align with marketing and sales priorities; Use tools to drive efficiency and help deliver world-class experience.
- Work with sales and product marketing to improve brand/product awareness and drive demand through event channels
- Create integrated event plans including budget, pre-event marketing, sponsorships, show floor presence, and post-event follow-up.
- Manage inventory, source new products and manage vendors for promotional items in warehouse and on internal online store.
- Work as part of planning team on logistics, communications and execution of two sales meetings per year.
- Manage inventory of physical booth properties and assets stored at exhibit house
- Perform other duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years of experience in corporate events and/or tradeshow management
- 1+ years of experience in successful lead generation and conference planning position in life science, diagnostic, or medical device industry preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word/Excel/Power Point
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends during pre-scheduled events
- Self-starter with ability to understand the business need and key stakeholders
- Experience with large-scale budgeting and planning
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions when presented with unplanned challenges
- Strong analytic and quantitative skills – ability to use data to develop and measure marketing strategies for events
- Skilled at working cross-departmentally (product managers, Med Affairs, sales, etc.)
- Ability to plan and execute projects involving multiple internal and external resources and stakeholders
- Highly organized and skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of key metrics to use to track and improve performance and ROI of events.
- Experience using event management platforms and/or mobile apps such as Cvent, Whova, Webex Events
- 10-20% Travel
