Job description

Position Summary

The Backend Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems, with a primary focus on API integration to enable seamless data exchange between various internal and external systems. This role requires a deep understanding of API protocols, backend programming languages, database management, and cloud-based infrastructure to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient system operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend systems and services to support business operations and application functionalities.
  • Design, implement, and optimize APIs, ensuring secure and efficient data exchange between different platforms and services.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend developers, software engineers, and system architects to ensure smooth integration of backend services with user-facing applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues, improving system reliability and performance.
  • Optimize backend processes for efficiency, scalability, and security.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for API protocols, endpoints, and development processes to ensure clarity and consistency across teams.
  • Implement best practices for API security, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in backend development and API management.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a backend developer, with a strong background in API development and integration.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing REST and SOAP-based APIs.
  • Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
  • Strong understanding of database management systems.
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with API security best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex backend and API-related issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
