Overview:

WJ Weiser, and association management firm is looking for a dynamic and strategic Associate Director, Donor Relations & Marketing Manager to join our passionate team and help elevate our efforts in fundraising, donor engagement, and organizational outreach for our clients.

 

Position Overview:
The Associate Director, Donor Relations & Marketing Manager is a multifaceted role that combines key aspects of donor relations, fundraising, and marketing strategy to enhance the impact of our mission. This individual will be responsible for creating and managing strategies that engage, retain, and inspire donors while promoting the organization’s programs, campaigns, and initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership, the development team, and cross-functional departments to ensure a seamless and effective approach to fundraising and marketing.

Responsibilities:

Donor Relations:

  • Develop and implement personalized engagement strategies to build strong, long-term relationships with current and prospective donors.
  • Oversee stewardship activities, including thank-you letters, recognition events, and customized donor communications, ensuring timely and impactful responses.
  • Collaborate with Executive Director to create and execute strategies for major donor cultivation, retention, and growth.
  • Track and analyze donor engagement metrics to inform outreach efforts and improve donor relations practices.
  • Lead efforts for donor events, including recognition galas, donor briefings, and other cultivation opportunities.

Marketing and Communications:

  • Manage the organization’s marketing campaigns, including digital, print, social media, and email communications, to raise awareness and drive engagement around the organization’s initiatives and fundraising efforts.
  • Collaborate with the staff and board to ensure consistent and effective messaging across all marketing channels.
  • Develop and execute content strategies that amplify the organization’s impact and mission, with a focus on women’s health topics.
  • Work with the design and creative teams to produce marketing materials, donor communication packages, and other collateral.
  • Oversee the creation of donor-centric materials, including impact reports, newsletters, and campaign updates.

Fundraising Support:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of annual fundraising campaigns, capital campaigns, and special initiatives.
  • Analyze fundraising data and donor trends to optimize fundraising strategies and improve donor engagement.
  • Support the Executive Director with proposal writing, grant submissions, and donor pitches as needed.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, the Board of directors, committees including programs, communications, and finance, to align messaging, reporting, and strategy.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in nonprofit fundraising, marketing, and donor relations, bringing innovative ideas and fresh strategies to the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, marketing, or communications, preferably in the nonprofit sector with a focus on women’s health or related causes.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful donor engagement and marketing strategies.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising tools, donor database management, and marketing platforms (e.g., CRM software, email marketing, social media, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft compelling stories that resonate with a diverse audience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, with a collaborative, results-oriented mindset.
  • Passion for advancing women's health and a commitment to the organization’s mission and values.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Some knowledge of women’s health issues and trends in the nonprofit sector.
  • Experience with executing successful donor and fundraising events.
