Everyone should have a simple, affordable way to save for retirement. At Guideline, our plans are low cost and highly automated. This makes it easy for companies to offer a valuable benefit—and easy for people to invest in their financial future with confidence.
Why Guideline Guideline was founded in 2015 by CEO Kevin Busque, when he noticed that young employees weren’t participating in his company’s 401(k) due to dated systems and high fees. A modern, easy to use, and affordable provider didn’t exist, so Kevin and the founders built Guideline with the mission of helping everyone arrive at a secure retirement. We’re now one of the fastest growing retirement companies (5th largest in the US), with more than 350 employees, 50,000+ businesses, and $15B+ invested on our platform. As we continue to expand, we’re looking for driven individuals to join our growing team.
Your impact on Guideline’s mission As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will be our clients' first interaction with our Sales Team. You'll be responsible for educating and qualifying prospects who have different degrees of interest. If qualified, you will introduce the prospects to our Account Executives (AEs).
Some more details
You’ll engage inbound leads (both new and old), qualify prospects, and book demos for AEs through personalized calls and emails, all while maintaining our SLA
You’ll monitor and update activity and lead information in Salesforce.
Our sales tools include Salesforce, Outreach, Gong, and Talkdesk

What you’ll gain SDRs are typically promoted to AE roles within 12-18 months of consistent performance. Over 75% of our AEs came from our SDR team.
In this role, you’ll have access to
Weekly coaching with your Sales Lead in 1on1s
Weekly team meetings to collaborate and share learnings
Quarterly reviews of your professional development goals and metrics
Quarterly Sales Kickoffs to hear from our leaders and peers
The first 6 months
In month 1, you’ll meet our teams and soak up as much product and industry knowledge as possible while you complete your onboarding program
In months 2-4, you’ll start your responsibilities as an SDR, making calls, generating new opportunities, and responding to inbound leads
By months 4-6, you’ll have a good understanding of our product and customers, be comfortable overcoming common objections, and consistently hit your daily metrics
Who’s a good fit
You have a minimum 1 year of professional working experience, and if that includes experience in a business development or sales role, even better
You’re driven - Self motivated to hit daily targets and hungry for growth
You’re adaptable - Excited by change & development
You’re collaborative - Team first mindset
You have exemplary verbal and written communication skills
You’re highly organized with strong attention to detail
Who’s not a fit
If you’re looking to pass the time, we suggest avoiding this role. We pride ourselves on promoting internally and prepping our SDRs for their next step as an Account Executive, so we’re looking for people interested in a sales career.
If you’re uncomfortable making phone calls or talking on the phone, or if you’re uncomfortable with change, this might not be a good fit.
