About OT&DS:

Operations Transformation and Digital Strategy (OT&DS) is Amgen's innovation hub, driving the digital transformation of end-to-end Operations through the application of innovative data and digital solutions. OT&DS spans Amgen’s global manufacturing network and its broader operational functions, including Quality, Process Development, Global Supply Chain, Global Engineering, and Manufacturing. This team provides a unique opportunity to engage with cross-functional collaborators and gain exposure to Amgen’s critical initiatives, using technology to create impactful solutions.

About This Role:

As a Finance E2E Reporting Intern, you will work as part of OT&DS, collaborating with dedicated Data Scientists, Engineers, and Finance professionals to design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions that enhance financial reporting and decision-making across Amgen Operations. You will help address challenges in E2E reporting processes and contribute to actionable insights that drive operational efficiency and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Problem Identification and Process Improvement: Partner with product owners and financial collaborators to identify gaps in reporting processes. Propose solutions to streamline workflows and improve decision-making through automation and analytics.
  • Data Exploration and Preparation: Dive into diverse financial datasets to clean, integrate, and prepare data for analysis. Ensure data integrity and relevance for key reporting and analytics initiatives.
  • Advanced Analytics and Visualization: Use data visualization tools to create intuitive dashboards and reports. Leverage analytics techniques to deliver actionable insights into financial performance and compliance metrics.
  • Collaborative Solution Development: Work in an Agile environment, iterating solutions based on end-user feedback. Collaborate closely with team members to design and deploy reporting tools that align with business objectives.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Present findings and recommendations to financial and operational stakeholders. Effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, fostering cross-functional collaboration.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
  • Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship OR co-op
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong interest in finance, operations, and digital transformation.
  • Familiarity with data analytics, statistics, or financial modeling.
  • Experience with data tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Programming skills (Python, SQL, or similar) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of data visualization best practices.
  • Understanding of Agile principles or willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with finance concepts like budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Experience working with cloud-based platforms.
  • Exposure to digital tools and solutions that drive operational efficiencies.
  • Experience in financial metrics, KPIs, or process automation.

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $24.70 - $28.30.
