Position Purpose

  • Under the direction of the Global Head of DIT/Digital & Information Technology, lead Santen’s digital transformation globally by developing plans to improve group-wide business process efficiency and productivity and contribute to Santen’s business transformation, leveraging digital technologies to achieve Vision 2030. Additionally, lead Santen’s Data & Analytics strategy by developing and implementing data-driven initiatives that enhance decision-making, optimize operations, and drive innovation across the organization.
  • Take full responsibility for Global Digital Innovation as a member of Global Digital & Information Technology Leadership Team (DLT).  Collaborate with other DLT members in decision making and people development within the organization.
  • Lead organizational change management for Digital Innovation, build sustainable capability for managing group-wide digital transformation.

Principal Accountabilities

Digital Strategy Planning

  • Plan mid- and long- term digital transformation initiatives and incorporate them into the Digital & Information Technology Mid-Term Plan.
  • Analyze and set priority digital portfolio across Santen group with relevant business functions.

Digital Transformation

  • Lead digital transformation in collaboration with the Corporate Strategy division, aligning with business senior management and stakeholders internally and/or with external partners. This includes but is not limited to business areas such as Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Research & Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and corporate functions.
  • Manage the digital project portfolio with Corporate Strategy, oversee digital activities and projects with DIT and business counterparts, fully aligning with DIT Business Partners for business functions.
  • Co-lead the plan with relevant business counterparts and monitor/report progress with financial contributions where applicable.

Data and Analytics

  • Spearhead the development and execution of Santen’s Data and Analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with senior management and key stakeholders both internally and externally, focusing on areas such as Sales, Marketing, Market Access, R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and corporate functions.
  • Establish and enforce robust data governance frameworks to maintain high standards of data quality, integrity, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Leverage advanced data analytics, including AI/machine learning technologies, to generate actionable insights, driving informed decision-making and innovation across the company.
  • Manage and oversee the data analytics project portfolio, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of projects in collaboration with business functions.

Organization Capability Building

  • Develop a strategy and plan for Organizational Change Management, facilitating a business transformation mindset within the company.
  • Establish the capability to deliver digital applications that align well with business objectives.
  • Establish the organizational capability to deliver and support digital applications, closely linked with the Global Service Operation in DIT, to fully support both internal and external users.
  • Manage organizational change and facilitate a company-wide digital transformation mindset in collaboration with the Corporate Strategy and HR divisions.
  • Develop team members and talents internally to strengthen the Santen group’s digital talent pool, thereby building sustainable capabilities and capacity for digital transformation.
  • Proactively obtain the latest digital technology information and keep stakeholders up to date.

Budget Management

  • Develop annual budget along with the roadmap of Santen group’s digital transformation.
  • Manage the approved budget by monitoring actual spending and reporting on it.

資格

[Must have]

  • Over 5 years of experience in leading Digital Transformation.
  • Over 5 years of experience in leading Data & Analytics initiatives, including promoting AI utilization.
  • Extensive experience in project management within cross-functional and multi-regional organizations.
  • Proven experience in collaborative work with multinational teams and global stakeholders.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to build trustworthy relationships with executives and senior business management.
  • Demonstrated success in people management and development.
  • Degree in digital and information technology or a relevant technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certified SCRUM Master and/or equivalent certification, or substantial knowledge and experience in Agile Development.
  • Native proficiency in Japanese and fluency in English.

[Nice to Have]

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical business.
  • Master’s degree in digital technology and/or data & analytics, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent experience.
