Where is this opportunity located?     

This position may work from a home office regularly; however, there is a need to be within a commutable distance (approximately 2-hour driving distance) to US Daktronics campuses (Brookings & Sioux Falls, SD and Redwood Falls, MN). Travel to US Daktronics campuses would happen during the summer and/or during school breaks. 

 

What is the pay and perks?

The typical hiring range for this position is $14.00 to $16.00 per hour based on the location of South Dakota. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation. 

 

Students with GPA of 3.5 and above may be eligible for a $500 Academic Excellence Reward for each spring and fall semester completed while employed. Additional conditions may apply.

As the Trade Compliance/Global Logistics Student, you will work as member of the corporate logistics team in our sourcing department, a corporate entity in the manufacturing division of Daktronics. The corporate logistics team manages the relationships with our freight services suppliers, including freight forwarding and customs brokerage. You will be assisting our U.S. factories with imports, exports, and trade compliance needs, as well as working our international subsidiaries on their imports. The focus will be on assisting with initiatives to drive continuous improvement. The majority of the work will be logistics or compliance projects where you will have the opportunity to interact with internal customers and external vendors via phone, email, and meetings.

Qualifications:

Academic Requirements:

  • The preferred applicant will be a student registered in at least 12 credits and currently enrolled in accredited bachelor’s degree program in in International Business, Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Business Management or related field. 
  • The preferred candidate will be in their sophomore or junior year of school.
  • Only strong academic performers will be considered.
  • Must maintain an acceptable GPA, preference to 2.5 GPA or greater.  
  • Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered for this position.

Other Requirements: 

  • Applicants should be available to work 15 hours per week (maximum of 20 hours per week) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.  
  • Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Qualified Driver status. Motor Vehicle records will be checked. 
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including professional telephone skills.  
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, flexible, organized, and strong need to work as a team player. 
  • Microsoft office experience preferred.
