Travel Insured International, a Crum & Forster company, is hiring for a Business Development Intern in our Business Development Team. 

 

Travel Insured International is a leading travel insurance provider with more than 30 years in business. As a key component of our Specialty Business Unit, within the Accident & Health division, TII provides travel protection plans to help each individual travel confidently. This role offers a hands-on experience in understanding the travel industry's key components, including consortia (Travel Leaders Network, Signature Travel Network, etc.), host agency networks (Nexion, Outside Agents, Gifted Travel Network), and trade associations like USTOA (United States Tour Operators Association) and CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association). Interns will gain exposure to strategies that strengthen partnerships across these sectors, while supporting marketing campaigns, industry research, CRM management, and event preparation.

Job Description:

What you will do:

  • Assist the Business Development team in managing client, prospect, and partner information.
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and analytics to track performance and assist with identifying growth opportunities
  • Maintain data integrity within Salesforce by ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Conduct research to identify new travel agency targets, consortia members, host agency partnerships, and opportunities with USTOA and CLIA-affiliated partners
  • Research competitive trends and provide information to the Business Development team.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on market intelligence projects and assist with the development of promotional materials
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of marketing campaigns targeting the Host Vertical, travel agencies, and consortia
  • Track outreach efforts, measure campaign effectiveness, and provide progress reports.
  • Assist with creating and refining collateral materials tailored to key client segments, such as tour operators and cruise lines
  • Prepare materials for trade shows, conferences, and events
  • Provide remote support for events, assisting with logistics, booth setup, and lead tracking.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly internal Business Development and Host Vertical meetings.
  • Take meeting notes, summarize key action items, and track next steps.
  • Assist with cross-functional projects that involve the marketing, underwriting, and operations teams.
  • At the conclusion of the internship, present a summary of learnings, accomplishments, and recommendations to senior management.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development Manager to assist with identifying cross-sell opportunities across travel protection products.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited College/University
  • Basic level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) with an intermediate level of Microsoft Excel required
  • Salesforce or other Client Relationship Management (CRM) system experience preferred
