Position Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Controller to manage the accounting operations. The Controller will take over critical accounting responsibilities, allowing the founder to focus on delivering high-level CFO services to clients. This role requires someone with the ability to "get it" and take ownership of the accounting function.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in creating and maintaining supporting schedules, performing month-end closes, and using Yardi and QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Operations: Manage and execute accounting operations, including creating and maintaining supporting schedules for fixed assets, prepaids (e.g., insurance), payroll accruals, and general accruals.
• Month-End Close: Perform monthly financial closings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Software Utilization: Utilize Yardi (for property management accounting) and QuickBooks Online for day-to-day accounting tasks.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to streamline accounting operations.
• Reporting: Provide accurate and timely financial reports to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience in accounting roles, including accounts receivable and general accounting.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Yardi and QBO is essential.
• Attributes: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing accounting operations independently.
• Training: Ability and willingness to adapt to specific processes and systems under guidance from a CPA.

Nice to Haves:

• Advanced skills in maintaining supporting schedules for various accounting functions.
