Responsibilities:

  • Maintain relationships in consulting with facility management, providing HR guidance and best practices.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to facility management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, conducting investigations).
  • Work closely with facility management and HR to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning at the facility level.
  • Identify training needs for HR Locals across the full life cycle of HR tasks.
  • Develop and train management in all HR functions, including interviewing, hiring, termination process, promotions, performance review, safety, sexual harassment, etc.
  • Provide day-to-day assistance within the HRIS system on process and functions for HCM, Absence, Compensation, Benefits, LOA.
  • Consult, train, and coach HR Locals on processes within Workday, HRIS system.
  • Troubleshoot with HR Locals on system issues and coach on how to troubleshoot the issues themselves.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, or provide personal training specific to the region and needs of the HR Locals.
  • Perform monthly audits of I9’s background checks, arbitration agreements to ensure compliance with all state and federal practices.
  • Work with the Risk Manager as needed on complex HR/WC cases.
  • Assist in acquisitions by onboarding employees and training local HR.
  • Research, develop, and deliver training programs.
  • Stay up to date on Federal, State, and local law changes.
  • Identify areas needing improvement and take effective measures to support customers.
  • Understand union activity and CBA language.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
  • Three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Experience working in multi-states and understanding state-specific employment regulations.
  • HR Certification is a plus.
  • Travel by auto or airline will be required 25% of the time.
  • In-office, non-remote position, flextime available to work from home.

Schedule:

  • Standard working hours are primarily 9-5, Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional weekend work may be required.
