The future of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology depends on decentralized governance. IO Global, the blockchain engineering company that created Cardano, is looking for an experienced Product Manager.
The candidate will be focused on enabling Bitcoin (BTC) to interact seamlessly with the Cardano ecosystem through the development of enhanced Bitcoin (eBTC). The workstream’s complexity requires dedicated oversight to ensure technical execution, stakeholder collaboration, and timely product delivery. The successful candidate will address challenges related to the development and implementation of secure, trustless cross-chain transactions.
This role requires well-developed analytical and creative skills, a strong strategic and objective-driven mindset, and the maturity to interface with senior stakeholders.
As a Product Manager at IOG, you will be responsible for incorporating feature requests into the product roadmap, refining and prioritizing backlog, developing user stories and defining acceptance criteria. You will work closely with the product scrum teams to clarify requirements, balance business needs with technical requirements, and recommend alternative technical approaches to meet product requirements when needed. You will be excellent at identifying user needs and working with cross-functional teams to manage product releases.
Duties
- Guiding the product lifecycle from inception to securing its first users, laying the foundation for growth and long-term success
- Leading and managing a multifaceted product development effort that spans multiple organizations and platforms
- Taking ownership of the end-user experience for a complex technical protocol, ensuring it is intuitive, accessible, and effective
- Strategically positioning the product in the market, aligning its features and benefits with user needs and industry trends to maximize its impact
- Coordinating inputs from stakeholders ranging from executives to engineers to end users
- Synthesizing data and research into actionable insights that can be easily communicated to a non-technical audience
- Monitoring activity and creating reports
- Incorporate feature requests into product roadmap
- Refine and prioritize backlog

Key Competencies
- A strong technical understanding of Bitcoin and Cardano, or similar blockchain protocols such as Ethereum or Polkadot
- Expertise in bridging protocols and blockchain interoperability, with a focus on enabling seamless interaction between ecosystems
- A solid grasp of decentralized finance (DeFi), including mechanisms behind decentralized market-making protocols and lending platforms
- Maturity and solid judgment to engage with senior stakeholders
- Analytical ability to design and improve processes

Requirements
Education / Experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience in product
- Experience working with pre-market-fit/nascent products
- Hands-on experience managing Web3 products, such as decentralized lending platforms or trading applications, with a proven track record of delivery
- Practical experience working within the Cardano or Bitcoin ecosystems, with familiarity in their technologies and communities
- A background in product management for complex technical products, demonstrating the ability to balance technical requirements with user needs and business goals
- Familiarity with agile frameworks and ways of working
- Some experience in ideation, innovation management and facilitation highly desirable
- Understanding and experience of issue and crisis management
- Excellent writing and language skills (English)
- Good technical understanding (experience in blockchain and crypto technologies preferred)
- Experience in conflict resolution methodologies
