Job description

Revenue Accountant - US Remote

Are you passionate about accuracy, analysis, and driving financial excellence? We are seeking a Revenue Accountant to play a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition, managing customer revenue schedules, and analyzing project performance. As part of a highly visible position within our Accounting department, you’ll collaborate with senior finance leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure our financial systems and processes are efficient and robust.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, and excels in leveraging technology to deliver impactful results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Management
    • Maintain and update project revenue and payment schedules in NetSuite for new contracts and changes, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards.
    • Perform monthly revenue calculations for all revenue streams, post general ledger entries, and prepare account reconciliations.
    • Reconcile and monitor revenue summaries, comparing actual vs. budgeted project performance.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Serve as the point of contact for revenue-related queries, providing timely reconciliations and insights to Project Managers, Finance, and Logistics teams.
    • Partner with the Accounts Receivable Team to ensure accurate billing and collections.
  • Analysis and Reporting
    • Conduct inventory and margin analyses, monitor revenue backlog, and review project profitability for potential change orders.
    • Support month-end close processes, including account reconciliations, deferred revenue roll-forwards, and inventory reconciliations.
    • Prepare special analyses and assist with strategic projects and system upgrades.
  • Process Improvement
    • Assist in enhancing revenue-related financial systems and workflows, including ERP system upgrades and data migrations.
Qualifications and Skills Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive accounting experience with a focus on revenue recognition.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, V/H-lookups, and data analysis functions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to change in a dynamic environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with revenue recognition in industries like pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or technology.
  • Familiarity with process mapping, ERP migrations, or general ledger automation projects.
  • Prior use of NetSuite ERP or similar systems.
