Public Relations Associate Vice President, Consumer Lifestyle PR (NYC Remote)

LOCATION:  The Public Relations Associate Vice President – Consumer Lifestyle PR is part of our FINN Partners NY, NY Office’s Consumer Lifestyle and Sports Public Relations practice.  This USA remote work role is for qualified applicants who currently live in the USA Eastern, or USA Central, or USA Pacific time zones

Our Consumer Lifestyle Public Relations (CLS) team at Finn Partners is one of the best in the industry!  We seek a leader to join us who is passionate about communications, ready to roll up their sleeves, and contribute to the success of the team. This is an opportunity to work with exciting clients (active outdoor brands and destinations, sports, wellness, food and beverage, athlete programs, etc.), where you will oversee planning and execution of client programs and grow new PR business.  You will work with regional, national and international consumer public relations clients. Applicants must have 6+ years of prior consumer public relations PR leadership experience. (PR agency-based experience with consumer lifestyle and outdoor brands is preferred).  You will effectively manage and grow PR client campaigns and deliver excellent media results for our clients. The Consumer PR AVP will also pursue, develop, and lead new business presentations, manage and cultivate PR staff members, and help set the tone for how the business is managed.  The role will report to and collaborate directly with Senior Partners in the CLS PR practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the execution of integrated and successful public relations campaigns/programs that exceed client goals.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communications; provide proper direction and counsel; and offer problem-solving solutions to clients.  
  • Develop and grow senior client relationships.
  • Lead internal teams and drive their growth; provide proper feedback and guidance; motivated to be creative and achieve excellent results. 
  • Review and develop press materials, including but not limited to press releases, media advisories, key messages, Q&As, and executive remarks.
  • Develop overall communications media strategy for clients; manage profitability and financial aspects of accounts.
  • Utilize excellent contacts to secure consistent media coverage across a wide range of consumer, F&B, business, lifestyle, and news publications.
  • Establish new media contacts to expand reach across print, online, TV, social, radio and podcasts.
  • Generate new business opportunities and help secure new clients; research and participate in new business presentations; develop RFPs that showcase our unique capabilities and proven results.

Requirements:
  • 6+ years of prior PR leadership roles focused on consumer public relations strategies and program execution, ideally with consumer lifestyle and outdoor brands.
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, or communications related field is required.  MBA or post-graduate degree is a plus.
  • Proven history of leading PR teams and driving results.
  • True passion for staying abreast of industry and consumer trends and creatively capitalizing on them.
  • Exceptional media relations with many top-tier national and trade outlets; proven history of media placements and established contacts.
  • Ability to develop and execute successful media relations, affiliate, and influencer programs.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills (familiar with AP style).
  • Strong communications skills, project management capabilities and proven problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet all deadlines.
  • Effectively work as part of a team, share information freely and support the common goals of the group.  Is a true team player.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, hardworking, flexible, and thorough.

Salary range is $90,000 - $105,000. The salary offered will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience and dependent upon the workplace.
