Job description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking an aspiring Junior Project Manager to join my SME client based in the North East, specialising in substation projects up to 33kV. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to develop their project management skills within a dynamic and growing sector.

As a Junior Project Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of substation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the planning, coordination, and delivery of substation projects up to 33kV.
Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
Support the procurement of materials and services required for project execution.
Ensure all activities are compliant with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including risk assessments, progress reports, and site records.
Conduct site visits to monitor work quality and resolve any issues that may arise.
Provide regular updates to senior project managers and clients.

Requirements

A degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, project management, or a related discipline.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Familiarity with substation projects or electrical infrastructure (experience with up to 33kV is preferred).
A willingness to learn and develop within the role, with support from senior colleagues.
Knowledge of project management principles and tools (e.g., Gantt charts, scheduling software) is advantageous.
A full UK driving licence is essential, as site visits will be required
