Senior Finance Specialist

Location: UK remote

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Finance Specialist to build the forecasting and financial modelling capabilities at Velsera. The role will provide crucial support to the VP of Finance and drive key insights and tracking of performance through the creation of both ad-hoc and purpose-built forecasting models and reporting, as well as helping to drive efficiencies in the finance function. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional excel and EPM/BI skills, have a track record of implementing FP&A and reporting tools, as well as experience with process improvements and change management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and own a three-statement financial model to be used for the quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting processes and monthly tracking of performance
  • Build and own ad-hoc financial models and presentations to be used for business cases and key financial analyses as opportunities arise
  • Build performance reporting and dashboarding tools for Velsera’s leadership team
  • Support the VP of Finance to with identifying and documenting current processes and process improvements across the finance function
  • Support the VP of Finance and Finance team leaders with tracking progress of process improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • A professional accounting qualification or similar.
  • 5-8 years of experience in FP&A, Consulting, Investment Banking or Private Equity environments.
  • Proven experience building financial models and analysis using Excel or more specialized analytical tools (e.g., EPM, BI).
  • Track record of implementing change and efficiency initiatives.
  • Experience with engaging with senior company stakeholders and presenting ideas or key analyses

Key Competencies:

  • Financial modelling: demonstrated the technical skills to build robust financial models.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complicated analyses to simplified insights for senior stakeholders (including Executives and Investors).
  • Pragmatism: comfort in using an 80:20 or hypothesis-driven approaches to analyses when deadlines are tight.
  • Ownership mindset: Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work streams and drive toward outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Proven experience in working across functions and stakeholders, building consensus, and driving execution in a fast-paced environment.
