The European Regional Benefits Manager is responsible for crafting a benefits philosophy that aligns with our corporate values and supports business objectives. This is a critical role in ensuring our employee benefits programs drive both employee engagement and company success.
This position is part of the Global Total Rewards team and will report to the Director of Global Benefits. It will be located remotely in Europe.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned, highly motivated, and results-driven leader to join our global benefits team as the European Regional Benefits Manager. In this role, you will oversee the strategic management and execution of benefits programs across all countries within the region. Partnering closely with regional and global stakeholders, you will provide consultation on a wide range of country-specific benefits initiatives, including health, retirement, life, accident, disability, well-being, and ancillary or voluntary programs. You will ensure that benefit plan designs are aligned with Danaher’s Rewards Strategy while meeting global goals and regional needs. Additionally, you will support policies related to allowances, perquisites, regional offer analysis, mobility, and any M&A/Divestiture activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Act as a strategic partner on the Compensation and Benefits Leadership team, guiding and mentoring benefits and HR professionals across the organization and within our operating companies.
Ensure that benefits program proposals are aligned with Danaher’s core values, competitive in the market, and cost-effective, while also meeting legal requirements. Collaborate with both internal stakeholders and external consultants to ensure benefits offerings remain flexible, relevant, and aligned with business and talent strategies.
Stay informed on current and emerging market trends, identify opportunities and potential gaps, and leverage industry best practices to design initiatives that reflect Danaher’s global Total Rewards principles, with local customization where necessary.
Work closely with global consultants and brokers to evaluate and benchmark benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness within industry trends and best practices. This may include overseeing pension committees.
Manage relationships with vendors, brokers, and carriers to monitor costs, service levels, processes, and the accuracy of data.
Lead the execution of annual contractual renewals including overseeing all stages of renewal discussions, communication of benefits changes, and change management strategies.
Provide support in merger and acquisition activities as they relate to benefits integration and harmonization.
Cultivate strong, trusting relationships across various levels of the organization, providing subject matter expertise and consultation to HR teams, business leaders, and other stakeholders on complex compensation and benefits issues.
Align benefit programs with the company’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion objectives.
Drive global standards, vendor consolidation, country-level benefits harmonization, multi-national pooling, pension de-risking, and identifying areas of shared service opportunities.
Support Pay Transparency initiatives.
Utilize the Danaher Business Systems (DBS) practices for activities like problems solving, project planning, change management, sustainment, etc.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience as a benefits leader with expertise in designing and delivering benefits programs across multiple regions and in-depth knowledge of regional legislation and compliance.
Significant experience managing benefits within large, complex multinational corporations, including multiple semi-autonomous businesses and stakeholders. Experience with M&A due diligence and benefits harmonization processes a plus.
Exceptional relationship-building and partnership skills, with a focus on accountability and results in a fast-paced, agile environment. Strong communication, organizational, collaboration, and presentation skills are required.
Solid business and HR acumen with the ability to make data-driven decisions and recommendations.
Excellent project management skills, along with the ability to innovate, analyze, and creatively solve problems.
Demonstrated ability to work with data insights and metrics to build business cases for program recommendations and change priorities given new initiatives.
