Purpose:  This role plays an important part in supporting the Commercial Life Science team. You manage incoming customer enquiries from various channels – email, phone, MyRSSL etc, - asking the right questions to understand their requirements, identifying and liaising with appropriate technical colleagues and administration functions to ensure timely and accurate communication.

Primary Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement: Managing incoming emails, phone calls, and MyRSSL inquiries to prepare accurate quotations/proposals and deliver timely updates on ongoing projects.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Building and maintaining excellent relationships with clients and internal technical teams.

  • Effective Multitasking: Handling inquiries from multiple clients across various channels simultaneously while maintaining high service standards.

  • Proactive Outreach: Sending targeted outreach emails and conducting initial scoping calls with small or dormant accounts to drive new business opportunities.

  • Account Management: Serving as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, focusing on maximizing existing business and identifying new growth opportunities.

  • Additional Support: Assisting the Commercial Life Science team with other tasks as needed to achieve business goals.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Language Requirements:

Must have knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree or professional qualification standard in a science subject

  • Intermediate level for MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Proven excellent communication and relationship building skills

  • Ability to maintain calmness whilst multi-tasking with several stakeholders and re-prioritise in changing environments

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to adapt personal style to others’ preferences and translate complex scientific information into simple terms. 

  • Informing– keeps stakeholders and key partners updated on progress

  • Peer Relationships - Collaborative style with ability to build partnerships both internally and externally, quickly finding common ground and solve problems for the good of all.

  • Fluent in English

Preferred knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Previous Inside Sales / Customer Service or Account Management experience in scientific setting

  • Multitasking / fast paced environment / managing several communication channels

  • Direct client experience
