Functional area: Operations & Maintenance

 

Fleet Servicing is a newly established team within the Offshore Operations Fleet Management & Support team that will be responsible for the annual servicing of Wind Turbines at Trident, Greater Gabbard and London Array from an SOV along with supporting trouble shooting over the winter months as required.

 

The Operations Manager develops and delivers, on behalf of the Fleet Servicing Team Lead, the effective planning and execution of tasks required for the day-to-day operation of the Fleet Servicing SOV. They are accountable for the resources and operational delivery to ensure the performance of the service provision in a safe, efficient, and sustainable manner, maximising the availability of assets serviced by the fleet servicing team.

 

About the role

  • Support the development and delivery of the culture, strategy, and long-term goals of Fleet Servicing
  • Responsible for the line management of the SOV vessel teams including the implementation of the Fleet Servicing goals, recruitment and training of personnel, and implementing the RWE Life Saving Rules
  • Implementation of the annual servicing plan within the agreed time, budget, and quality standards to deliver the agreed Key Performance Indicators
  • Responsible for operational decisions affecting the offshore servicing team, consulting with General Managers, Production Managers, and Engineering Managers at the Wind Farm to optimise service delivery
  • Management of contract resources and facilities in line with RWE Contract Management policies and procedures
  • Fulfil the role as Authorisation Officer under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules, HV Operational Safety Rules and LOTO system as required, ensure the various rule sets are fully complied with at the sites serviced by the Fleet Servicing team
  • Able to work from home and the SOV to support the operational teams, typically on a pre-agreed rotation, able to cover multiple operational roles to maintain business continuity
  • Perform Duty Manager cover out of hours and over weekends as part of a rota with other members of the site management team

 

Job requirements and experience

  • A technical or business-focused higher qualification such as HNC/HND or Degree
  • QHSE qualification to NEBOSH or equivalent and extensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) legislation and standards
  • Full Offshore Certificates (GWO, Medical, Chester Step test)
  • An extensive understanding of service operations on wind farms including managing routine maintenance activities and campaigns
  • Have detailed knowledge of the application of safety rules within the energy industry
  • Previous experience in overseeing SOV Operations
  • Planning and organising skills to include effective prioritising, resource management, and a long-term strategic focus
  • Contract management skills to enable effective working relationships and commercial awareness
