Job description

Overview:

This position will provide business development for MicroTech with a focus on IT Sales to include networking services and IT solutions for Veterans Affairs (“VA”) customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, draft, and execute plans, business strategies, and weekly reports and participate in and/or lead leasing activities
  • Actively develop and nurture strategic alliances with government clients to support the business development strategy
  • Assist in merging technical capabilities to support opportunities in emerging markets
  • Demonstrate knowledge of business development processes as well as MicroTech’s services and capabilities
  • Provide qualified recommendations for expanding capabilities and entering new business areas via acquisitions and other means
  • Maintain system of tracking, decision-making and reporting on business opportunities throughout the life cycle, from concept to contract
  • Collect/document intelligence about the customer, procurement, competition, and pricing.
  • Collaborate with the capture/proposal team on win themes and strategy
  • Identify potential Sales risks and development avoidance and mitigation strategies.
  • Establish resource needs such as consultants, key hires, etc.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • A minimum of 3 years of direct VA sales experience
  • Must be highly motivated, detail oriented, with a solid sales experience and a proven track record of meeting sales goals, driving business, and assisting with corporate Business Development strategy
  • Knowledge and expertise in Federal procurement policies and practices, techniques for marketing and selling in the Federal space
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential
  • Ability to visit with customers on an as-needed basis
