Identify and troubleshoot hardware and software problems within the virtual environment
Analyze resource utilization and optimize performance
Capacity planning:
Proactively assess future resource needs and plan for capacity expansion
Monitor storage and compute resource usage to avoid potential bottlenecks
Patch management and upgrades:
Apply updates and patches to ESXi hosts and vCenter Server
Manage upgrade cycles for the vSphere environment
Security management:
Implement security best practices within the vSphere environment
Configure access controls and user permissions
Monitor for potential security threats
Collaboration and support:
Work with other IT teams to ensure smooth integration with the overall infrastructure
Provide technical support to users regarding virtual machine issues
Years of experience needed – 10 + years Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components such as servers, networks, storage, security systems, and operating systems.
Change Management Methodology:
Proficiency in ITIL or other recognized change management frameworks, including knowledge of best practices for managing change.
Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyze potential impacts of changes, identify risks, and make informed decisions.
Stakeholder Management:
Proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders across different departments and manage expectations effectively.
Problem-solving:
Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges that arise during the change implementation process.
Project Management:
Basic project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor change initiatives.
Leadership:
Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams to achieve successful change outcomes.
