Job Summary:

Manage a group of high/potential volume accounts that are specific to a geographic region of the country or a smaller national retail organization that a field sales representative cannot manage due to their sheer size and level of interactions needed with other departments in the company. Creativity, self-initiative, adeptness at managing multiple needs across many functional areas as well as developing customer relationships and are key skills of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a strong understanding of the optical retail industry-with emphasis on region-specific chains, In order to participate in high level business building discussions with the owners and senior managers of the customer
  • Develops business plans with a set of plans of action for each assigned account in conjunction with his/her manager along with creating customer agreements with help of the company’s legal department
  • Interfaces with marketing and field sales departments to insure continued sales growth within their accounts
  • Co-ordinates with Finance to meet customer financial goals and to ensure all expenditures are continually updated and accounted for within approved budgets and agreements
  • Makes high-quality sales presentations in accordance with company guidelines
  • Communicates necessary information to appropriate departments-including coordination of efforts across different levels of the company sales team to ensure that appropriate resources are utilized correctly
  • Participates, as requested, in strategy sessions for development of sales programs, pricing and policies
  • Learns and utilizes at a higher than average level CVI sales reporting and information management software programs to enhance sales and provide information as required to management.


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of the contact lens industry and capabilities to meet the needs of the retail customer channel
  • Skilled at making individual customer and group presentations up to 300 individuals
  • Strong analytical capabilities that lead to clear plans of action with supporting rationale
  • Comfortable with interacting with all facets of a customer’s business from finance, professional relations, marketing, training, sales development, HR
  • Adept at developing and implementing promotional programs at all levels in a customer’s organization down to the individual staff member in the office
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Advanced preferred.
  • Better than average capabilities with using company reporting software
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills that are used independent of manager overview
  • A self-starter with drive and initiative


Work Environment:

  • Extensive Travel required – as much as 60% of time as well as weekends.
  • Living within a reasonable and cost effective distance from customer locations is preferred.


Experience:

  • Minimum 6-10 years industry experience with preferred 10+ years sales experience. Management of other people an additional asset


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
