Your opportunity  

Dillon’s Communities & Environment group is looking for a Construction Observer to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals.  You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience. 

 

This position is available in our London office.  We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.

Responsibilities:

What your day may look like

Project work

  • On-site construction observation of infrastructure projects, ensuring that projects meet the requirements of contract drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and witness required testing activities to ensure that testing is being carried out at the prescribed frequency and that the results are acceptable.
  • Manage daily records of site conditions, activities, quantities and progress of work.
  • Lead or support contract administration as required, including the preparation of progress payment certificates and meeting minutes.

Qualifications:

What you will need to succeed

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, or 5+ years experience in a related field.
  • Eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training or Certified Engineering Technologist-in-Training and 2+ years' related work experience would be an asset.
Experience:
  • Working knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with contract administration services and requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of municipal servicing standards and environmental approvals requirements.
