Job description

We are seeking a Technical Analyst II to support the Point-to-Point Testing and DMS control screen development / testing of distribution recloser devices used throughout power distribution systems. The Technical Analyst II will ensure the recloser devices are functioning correctly through maintaining screen changes in the Work Management Ticketing System, validating test scripts for the functionality of the devices in a test environment while communicating with field contractors of choice as they install the finished recloser in real time.
 
The Technical Analyst II will initially validate test scripts and then move on to DMS screen builds and point to point testing for new and existing reclosers based upon tasks defined by the work management tickets. The work will be performed in an office environment while communicating with various stakeholders and field personnel. The Technical Analyst II will be part of a larger team and specific training will be provided where required to support the work.

THE WORK:
  • You’ll program and test Work Management Ticket job assignments.
  • You’ll design screen builds for recloser devices in the Distribution Management System according to design specifications.
  • You’ll perform back-office work, including DMS SCADA database updates, display builds, and point-to-point testing for commissioning distribution automation devices as requested.
  • You’ll work with field contractors to provide technical support and troubleshooting of devices during activation in DMS.
  • You’ll provide extended hour support for requests as needed.
  • You’ll communicate status updates with system engineers, dispatchers, contractors, and control room operators.
  • You’ll support process and qualification requirements, including NERC, CIP, system documentation, security, and safety standards.
  • Remote: This role allows for remote work for the majority of your work hours.

  • HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
  • Associate degree or Technical Certification in Electrical or Electronic Manufacturing or Assembly

  • BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Experience in Power Distribution
  • Knowledge and experience with SCADA, RTUs, P2P testing processes, electric distribution equipment, substations, and transmission systems
  • The ability to follow Work Management Tickets and complete duties as assigned, as well as learn and understand electrical drawings and schematics
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Analytical thinking skills, sound judgment, and effective problem-solving abilities
  • A proven ability to interact with all levels of management and staff while demonstrating business acumen
