About The Role:

The accounting analyst role is an intermediate level position aimed at candidates who have recently received their designation or are looking to complete their experience requirements for the designation. The ideal candidate would be someone that is efficient and productive. The core accountabilities of the role consist of mostly routine tasks, but further development opportunities are available for the right individual.
 

Workplace Arrangements:

This role will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Ottawa Head Office, on Walkley Road 2 days a week for an 8-5 schedule.

What You'll be Doing:

• Prepare and review month-end journal entries and accruals

• Complete GL account reconciliations for store and other cost centers

• Perform monthly P&L variance analysis and investigate discrepancies as required

• Participate in Store operating expense budgeting, forecasting, and analysis

• Prepare documents for year-end audit

• Respond to internal and external stakeholder inquiries on accounting matters

• Perform internal audits of Store petty cash disbursements and other ad hoc requests as required
   

What You'll Bring:

• University degree in Accounting/ Business

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or related field

• Has the CPA designation or in the process of completing the experience requirement for the designation

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and part of a team

• Strong computer skills including advanced Excel skills

Assets You May Have:

• Ability to speak/read/ write French

• Retail experience

• Experience working in a large organization with many locations
