Summary And Purpose Of Position
Please note this role is a 6 month FTC.
Our Solution design team is at the heart of driving our business growth. From supporting the business development team in securing long term contracts to enhancing our services for existing clients, there’s always something exciting to tackle. We’re dedicated to crafting innovative, high quality, and cost-efficient solutions that exceed customer expectations. To keep achieving this, we’re looking to strengthen our team through the hire of a solutions design manager for a 6 month FTC. The successful applicant will join the team on to accelerate business growth by creating innovative, high-quality transport solutions that drive new business opportunities and enhance existing accounts across diverse industry sectors.

Duties And Responsibilities
Analyse and interpret data to develop robust, viable and cost-effective logistics solutions.
Leverage tools and techniques to design innovative transport solutions tailored to strategic sectors and services.
Apply industry benchmarks and operational KPIs to validate and enhance solutions.
Oversee end-to-end solution design activities, from customer engagement to solution definition, proposal creation, and presentations.
Ensure the application of fit-for-purpose approaches and techniques in solution design.
Lead risk assessments and lesson learned sessions on own and other solutions.
Actively engage with Business Development and Commercial Finance, as well as operational leaders and functional heads.
Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers to deliver effective, data-driven solutions.
Foster working relationships with current and potential new suppliers.
Act as a reference point for operational KPIs, performance benchmarks, and industry trends.
Strive for excellence and demonstrate expertise in logistics service and solution design.
Attend industry events to keep at the forefront of latest technology advancements.
Experience, Skills, And Attributes
Familiarity with key industry sectors such as retail, e-commerce, FMCG, defence and industrial.
Awareness of sustainable logistics practices and the ability to integrate environmentally friendly solutions into designs.
Experience with implementing emerging technologies, such as automation, robotics, or AI, within warehouse operations and logistics.
Expert knowledge of the logistics industry.
Strong analytical skills, including verbal and numerical reasoning.
Proficiency in solution design tools and techniques. (Power BI, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, MTM)
Competence in report writing, external tender responses, and PC-based software.
Practical experience in operational environments and aligning solutions with delivery requirements.
Proactive, self-starter with excellent initiative and time management skills.
Strong commercial acumen and deep understanding of market trends and competition.
Ability to engage stakeholders and gather insights from internal and external sources.
Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
Proven ability to manage and lead projects to achieve key objectives.
Strong time management and organizational abilities.
Team player with strong networking and relationship-building skills.
