Role Overview:
As the Senior Manager, Compensation & Benefits for Industrial Automation and Transport you’ll play a pivotal role in managing the Sector’s reward processes that attract top talent, foster engagement, and drive business success with the opportunity to collaboratively shape, alongside your Reward Centre of Expertise peers, how we reward and recognize our people across all IMI Sectors, ensuring they feel valued and motivated to excel.
This role provides an opportunity to align global initiatives with Sector-specific needs, delivering tailored reward solutions that fuel growth and performance. Acting as a trusted partner to leadership, you’ll use your expertise to ensure our total rewards offering remains competitive, compliant, and aligned with our global vision and frameworks, all while making a tangible impact on our employee’s experience at IMI.
Preferred location: This is a Remote position with some travel (5%). Prefer candidates located in Midwest or East Coast US.
Key Responsibilities
Delivering Reward Excellence
- Collaborate with Sector and functional leadership to design and implement reward initiatives that align with global frameworks while addressing unique Sector priorities.
- Analyze market trends, employee feedback, and compensation data to deliver competitive, innovative reward programs.
- Be the trusted advisor for all things rewards - compensation, benefits, and performance incentives - ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and oversee global Sector-specific sales incentive plans that inspire high performance and support ambitious growth targets.
- Lead annual compensation reviews, including merit increases and incentive payouts, getting stuck into the detail to ensure timely execution, alignment with organizational methodologies and that such processes empower leaders to reward top talent effectively and equitably.
- Serve as the key conduit between Sector leadership and the global rewards team, advocating for Sector needs while maintaining global consistency.
Compensation Management
- Manage the Sector’s annual compensation review process, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and adherence to global timelines and wider organisational standards.
- Co-design and implement salary structures and pay ranges that reflect both market realities and internal equity.
- Conduct salary benchmarking, collaborating with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition to ensure compensation packages are competitive, aligned with talent strategy and market conditions.
- Support the introduction and rollout of job classification across IMI, conducting job evaluations to ensure roles are graded appropriately.
- Manage the Sectors adoption and utilisation of the global recognition program to cultivate a high-performance culture, working closely with HR business partners to integrate recognition into broader engagement initiatives.
- Support the development and delivery of benefits and wellbeing programs that align with company values and boost employee satisfaction.
Data-Driven Insights & Reporting
- Evaluate the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs using robust data analysis.
- Present reward metrics and performance insights to senior leadership, empowering informed decision-making.
- Ensure accurate reporting to meet audit, compliance, and governance requirements.
Compliance & Governance
- Champion fairness, equity, and transparency in all reward decisions across the Sector.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with international labour laws and local regulations, adapting programs proactively to legislative changes.
- Support global compensation and benefits audits, ensuring transparency and adherence to governance standards.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and nurture partnerships with Sector leaders, HR Business Partners, Finance teams and regional teams, providing expert guidance on reward-related matters.
- Lead the rollout of new reward programs, ensuring smooth adoption and clear understanding across teams.
- Share best practices with global counterparts, fostering alignment and driving consistency across Sector

Benefits plans change year over year, but we have guiding principles in place to ensure our employees have the tools and resources available to stay connected and up to date
Pay range: $150k - $170k base plus bonus opportunity.
Within the range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to the job requirements. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible to receive a variable incentive pay component. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
