Responsibilities:

The Tumor Registrar III is responsible for obtaining, organizing, analyzing, and managing cancer data for use in various quality improvement and investigative studies. This individual will support quality studies and quality improvement initiatives of the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute (NHCI) Multidisciplinary Care (MDC) Teams, specifically the disease-specific Steering Committees. The Tumor Registrar III will work directly with administrative personnel, physician practice staff, and providers to assess the feasibility of each study; resource requirements; study design; and, data collection and analysis.

 

Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) credential and/or (formerly known as) Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credential from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) and two years’ experience in cancer registry field or similar field is required.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED

  1. Associates degree or equivalent in related field.
  2. Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) credential and/or (formerly known as) Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credential from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA)
  3. CTR Certification
  4. Two years’ experience in cancer registry field or similar field.
  5. Experience using computer data base systems.
  6. Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  7. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

PREFERRED

  1. Experience using Microsoft Access and One Note.
  2. B.S. degree in Health Sciences, Health Information Management, or related discipline.
Work Hours:: 7-3:30p Weekend Requirements:: No
