Overview

The SAP ABAP Consultant with expertise in CDS, ODATA, and RAP plays a critical role in the development and optimization of business applications within an organization. This position requires a deep understanding of SAP ABAP programming language and its integration with Core Data Services (CDS), OData services, and the Rapid Application Programming (RAP) model. The consultant is responsible for transforming complex business requirements into effective technical solutions that enhance operational efficiency. By leveraging modern SAP technologies, the consultant ensures that the organization's applications are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with industry best practices. Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain custom ABAP programs and extensions in SAP environments.
Design and implement CDS views for reporting and data manipulation.
Build and enhance OData services for seamless integration with external applications.
Implement the RAP model for developing next-gen applications on the SAP Business Technology Platform.
Collaborate with functional consultants to gather detailed business requirements.
Create technical specifications based on functional requirements for development.
Perform unit testing and debugging of developed applications to ensure quality.
Proactively optimize existing ABAP programs for performance improvements.
Assist in the migration of legacy system functionalities to SAP S/4HANA using ABAP.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
Provide support and resolve issues in production environments.
Document technical processes and procedures for future reference.
Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and development practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective project delivery.
Participate in workshops and training sessions for knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as an SAP ABAP Consultant with a focus on CDS, ODATA, and RAP.
Strong knowledge of SAP ABAP programming concepts and best practices.
Experience in developing CDS views and OData services in SAP Gateway.
Understanding of the RAP programming model and its implementation.
Familiarity with SQL scripting and database design principles.
Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA architecture and functionalities.
Expertise in performance tuning of ABAP applications.
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
Certification in SAP ABAP or related technologies is a plus.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
5+ years of relevant experience in SAP projects.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
