Job description

About Faire

Faire is an online wholesale marketplace built on the belief that the future is local — independent retailers around the globe are doing more revenue than Walmart and Amazon combined, but individually, they are small compared to these massive entities. At Faire, we're using the power of tech, data, and machine learning to connect this thriving community of entrepreneurs across the globe. Picture your favorite boutique in town — we help them discover the best products from around the world to sell in their stores. With the right tools and insights, we believe that we can level the playing field so that small businesses everywhere can compete with these big box and e-commerce giants.

By supporting the growth of independent businesses, Faire is driving positive economic impact in local communities, globally. We’re looking for smart, resourceful and passionate people to join us as we power the shop local movement. If you believe in community, come join ours.

About this role

We are looking for a Corporate Finance Lead to oversee Faire’s consolidated financial model, ensure operational excellence, and drive investment discipline through deep partnerships with leaders across the business.  The mission of the Corporate Finance team is to maximize Faire’s long-term value by translating business strategy into well-defined financial plans, reporting, and analysis that support business execution and decision-making. This team will closely partner with the CFO and other senior leaders cross-functionally on financial budgeting, planning and forecasting to ultimately improve our capital allocation efficiency.

What you’ll do

  • Manage consolidated financial reporting and planning processes, including headcount, revenue, operating expenses, cash flow, and performance variance analyses.
  • Deliver high-quality financial performance reporting, including headcount, revenue, operating expenses, cash flow, and analysis of actual to expected performance.
  • Provide financial analysis, decision support, and appropriate challenges to key department leaders across the corporate function (People, Legal, Finance, and Engineering).
  • Continuously improve and standardize reporting frameworks, systems, and processes.
  • Support communications and key corporate reporting requirements to executives and board members (e.g. P&L, performance KPI tracking, etc).

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in equity research or private equity/VC, with 3+ years of direct Corporate Finance experience.
  • Strong business & financial acumen with an understanding of technology or marketplace business models.
  • First-class financial analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to synthesize data and metrics to tell a compelling story, tailor content to different audiences, and demonstrate strong writing and presentation skills. Maintains a high bar for separating signal from noise.
  • A “get-things-done” mindset - You are resourceful and not afraid to roll up your sleeves when necessary to move forward tactically.
  • Strong project management skills - can structure and manage complex cross-functional projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Sharp attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other relevant field.

Salary Range

New York City: the pay range for this role is $151,000 - 207,500 per year.

This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
