Handmade sweet and savory pastries, deli-style salads and ready-to-cook entrées are offered alongside imported groceries, goods and housewares. It’s a charming go-to for takeaway lunch and dinner, Lebanese specialties and gifts.

Job Description
  • Participate in the recruitment, hiring and onboarding of new staff.
  • Train and empower staff to achieve our elevated standards of service.
  • Create FOH staff schedules, report payroll and control staffing to maintain labor costs.
  • Collaborate with our culinary team to ensure harmony from the kitchen to the table.
  • Develop continuing education opportunities for staff, working with purveyors and farmers.
  • Manage reservations on line to maximize reservations and accommodate business demand.
  • Communicate with guests regarding reservations, special events, prices and scheduling.
  • Maintain inventories of FOH supplies.
  • Engage in ongoing communication of varied and pertinent information with the owner.
  • Streamline and enhance operations through the development of efficient policies, operating procedures, and guest-service standards.
  • Oversee the beverage program ensuring restaurant standards are upheld and cohesion exists between libations and victuals.
  • Update POS systems (items, stock, and pricing) based on inventory and sales trends.
  • Complete routine maintenance and general upkeep of the dining room as a whole.
  • Prepare and hold a pre-shift meeting with staff communicating positively and effectively what is going well, potential areas of improvement and core focuses for the upcoming shifts (i.e. upselling, teamwork, guest satisfaction, etc.).
  • Organize and complete the set up and breakdown of service or special events (including but not limited to creation of floor plan, menus, employee attendance, cash in/out).
  • Supervise and guide all employees before, during and after shift.
  • Strive to exceed guest experience through observing food and beverage service, suggesting improvements where possible.
  • Engage guests by establishing a welcoming presence during service.

Qualifications
  • Charisma, tenacity and a fantastic sense of humor
  • One year fine dining management
  • Two years in an upscale restaurant environment
  • A strong knowledge of cuisine, wines and spirits
  • High emotional intelligence, able to cultivate trusting relationships with diverse individuals
  • Adaptable, capable of shifting styles to fit the needs of an array of people
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure in a detail orientated environment
  • POS system experience (please indicate what system(s) and length of time used)
  • Impeccable written and oral communication skills
  • A passion for excellence
